We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We only share your data with trusted entities necessary to process your donation:

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC): If you complete a Gift Aid declaration, we are legally required to share your name, address, and donation details with HMRC to reclaim the tax.

Payment Processors: If you donate via card, phone, or smartwatch, your payment is securely processed by our third-party merchant provider (e.g., SumUp / Zettle). They act as a data processor on our behalf and are strictly bound by financial and data security regulations.

4. How Long We Retain Your Data

Gift Aid Records: UK tax law requires charities to hold Gift Aid declarations and proof of the corresponding donations for a minimum of 6 years from the end of the financial year to which the claim relates.

Digital Receipt Emails: Email addresses typed into our card terminals are used instantly by the payment processor to send your receipt. The museum does not extract or retain these email addresses for marketing or any other database.
